ABOUT THEOSIS STUDIO
Theosis Studio takes its name from one of the oldest and most profound ideas in Christianity: theosis — our partaking in the life of God; becoming, by grace, what we were created to be.
It is at the heart of everything we make: faith is not only something we believe or seek to understand, but something that utterly transforms how we see and create, how we live and love.
The journey behind these films is as important as the message.
That journey begins with a yearning voice that sleeps within us and pleads to be heard.
To hear it is to enter the most intimate of conversations — one that begins within us, but does not end there.
We believe we are created from an ineffable Love — and that we become most fully ourselves in communion with God and with one another.
And perhaps it is there that silence becomes more than emptiness, and solitude something other than being alone.
WHO WE ARE
Mirjana Joković is an actress and educator.
Her career spans four decades of film and theater productions in Europe, South America, and the USA.
Her work in the US encompassed Broadway, American Repertory Theater, and American Conservatory Theater, to name a few.
In Serbia, she is a renowned actress whose career has earned major national and international awards.
She has been an educator and Head of the Performance Program for the last few decades at the renowned CalArts (California Institute of the Arts) academic institution in California. Acting/Art of Living and pedagogy have been a privilege, allowing her to examine the profound aspects of human experience and share them in truth.
Ivan Andrijanić is a filmmaker whose work has taken him across film, television, documentary, and emerging forms of visual storytelling.
His interest lies in the meeting place between image, story, and the deeper currents of human experience.
In Theosis Studio, his work as a filmmaker meets a faith that has shaped him throughout his life.
Theosis Studio was founded by Ivan Andrijanić and Mirjana Joković, bringing together filmmaking, storytelling, and a shared desire to explore the Orthodox Christian faith through art.
We set out on this venture with the blessing and support of our spiritual father, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, Archbishop of Peć and Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovci.
